Woo Jinyoung, the youngest member and rapper of boy group D1CE, made his solo debut on June 9th at 6 p.m. KST with his first mini-album, (3-2=A).
The explosive title track “Happy Birthday” is a hip-hop song with aggressive synth leads and powerful sounds. Lyrically, the song is self-reflective and features memories of the past and a rediscovery of self for the future. It is a song that clearly showcases the type of artist Woo Jinyoung is, making his own powerful and impressive mark in the K-pop idol rapper scene.
The autobiographical mini album (3-2=A) contains a total of six songs which were all written and composed by Jinyoung, with producers bayb and Nu:face contributing additional composition and arrangements.
Prior to the rapper’s 2019 debut in the D1CE Entertainment boy group, he appeared on survival programs “Produce 101 Season 2” and “MIXNINE.” The latter, which also features his fellow D1CE members Yonggeun and Hyunsoo, found Jinyoung ranking first out of all male contestants.
