On May 17th at 6 p.m. KST, SMTOWN‘s newest girl group reclaimed the stage with a “Next Level” comeback!
The hip-hop dance track is about the aespa‘s adventure to reclaim the connection between their world and their AI’s and how to protect themselves against the threat of the villain they introduced in their debut track.
Originally a “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” OST by A$ton Wyld, the song features groovy rapping and a dynamic bass riff ,as well as SM’s signature experimental takes in the form of beat and tone switch-ups.
Aespa is a four-member group which debuted in November 2020. Their name, stylized as æspa, stands for “Avatar X” and “aspect.” It symbolizes a dual side that enables them to explore a new world through a different version of themselves. They feature four more “members” in the form of their AI counterparts who live in the “KWANGYA,” a platform that is threatened by the emergence of the entity called the Black Mamba.
