On April 23rd at 6 p.m. KST, Super Junior‘s Yesung pre-released a single from his upcoming mini-album and its music video titled, “Phantom Pain”!
The song was described by SM Entertainment as “a new song in the indie pop genre” and “is characterized by expressing the breakup that could not be overcome.” The loss and longing was likened to what is called “phantom pain,” the sensation of pain that seemingly stems from a body part that is no longer there.
In the accompanying music video, Yesung plays the part of someone patiently looking after his grievously ill lover while also reminiscing happier times with them in the past.
The singer is set to drop his fourth mini-album on May 3rd KST, nearly two years after his comeback with “Pink Magic” in June 2019. He is expected to perform “Phantom Pain” during Super Junior’s digital fanmeeting for ELF Japan’s 10th Anniversary on April 25th at 5 p.m. KST.
Super Junior recently returned with their 10th full album, The Renaissance, and its lead track, “House Party.” Music videos for “The Melody,” “Tell Me Baby,” “Raining Spell For Love” (a remake version), and “Burn The Floor” were unveiled prior to the release.
