BLACKPINK‘s Rosé marks her solo debut on March 12 at 2 p.m. KST with her first single album and a music video for the lead track, “On The Ground”!

The singer herself described the song as something that helps her identify what important purpose she has in life and hopes that it would resonate with the listeners as well. Its lyrics, co-written by Rosé and sung fully in English, laments and longs for something she has overlooked while on her the way to the top.

Any Allen, Jon Bellion, Jorgen Odegard, Raul Cubina, and TEDDY teamed up with the singer to pen the lines while TEDDY, 24, Jorgen Odegard, ojivolta, and Jon Bellion collaborated to produce the track.

-R-, her first single album, also contains Rosé’s previously introduced single, “Gone.” It was written by Brian Lee, J.Lauryn, TEDDY, and Rosé and composed by 24 and Brian Lee.

Rosé is the second BLACKPINK member to officially launch a solo career following Jennie‘s success with “Solo” back in 2018. She last returned with the group in 2020 to promote their first full studio album (The Album) which contained various hits like “How You Like That,” “Ice Cream,” and “Lovesick Girls.”
