“Flower of Evil”
Starting from the most recent release, this drama is composed of a star-studded cast. Baek Hee Seung (Lee Joon Gi) is a well-known metal craftsman who lives a good life with his family, but he holds a dark secret from his past. His wife, Cha Ji Won (Moon Chae Won), is a hardworking detective who gets involved in a cold case. It leads her to discover something from her husband’s past which makes it seem like the suspect she’s been looking for has always been just around the corner all along.
“Tell Me What You Saw”
This series tells the story of a genius criminal profiler, Oh Hyun Jae (Jang Hyuk), and his fateful meeting with a young policewoman (Choi Soo Young) who possesses a keen photographic memory. They team up to solve various murders, including the tragic death of the profiler’s fiancée.
“Criminal Minds”
This is a remake of the hit American series of same name! It follows a group of agents (played by Lee Joon Gi, Lee Sunbin, Moon Chae Won, So Hyun Joo, Yoo Sun, and Go Yoon) who study behavioral analysis to understand the minds of criminals and solve tricky cases in the process. Expect many thrilling psychopathic villains in this particular drama!
“Stranger”
In this series also know as “Secret Forest,” Hwang Si Mok (Cho Seung Woo) works as an upright prosecutor who one day happens to be near a crime scene where he meets Lieutenant Han (Bae Doona). He gets tasked to form a special team that aims to eradicate corrupt officials and help stop a serial murder case within two months. This drama gained so much attention that it managed to take home the Grand Prize at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards. The series also introduced a second season in August 2020.
“VOICE”
This incredible drama now has multiple seasons and just continues to gain fans with each one. The first season starts off about the team-up of a mad dog detective Moo Jin Hyuk (Jang Hyuk) and an expert voice profiler Kang Kwon Joo (Lee Ha Na) who tracks down the killers with their combined skills. The second season sees the addition of Lee Jin Wook, a detective who is determined to clear his name when accused of murdering his partner.
“Tunnel”
This crime thriller drama involves time travel! The main lead Park Gwang Ho (Choi Jin Hyuk) accidentally travels to the future while chasing a suspected serial murder and continues solving the case from the present. With women’s lives at risk, he and other detectives have to team up to solve the case as fast as they can to give justice to the victims and to put a stop to the killings. This drama is amazingly fast-paced so pinpointing who the killer is can be a challenge!
“Signal”
Another a crime thriller and time travel combo, this show revolves around the lives of detectives who help each other solve cases from the past to prevent it from happening in the present.
Detective Park Hae Young (Lee Je Hoon) gains the ability to contact Detective Lee Jae Han (Choi Jin Woong) from the past with the help of a mysterious radio. The drama adds a darker layer to its story thanks to the fact that the cases were based on real events known as the “Hwaseong Serial Case.”
“Signal” gained critical acclaim and was recognized as the 10th highest-rated Korean drama in cable TV history. The show has a interesting plot which will definitely make viewers hooked, so make sure you’ve seen this series which instantly became a hit!
