Cube Entertainment Announces Ilhoon Will Leave BTOB

Cube Entertainment has announced that Ilhoon will be leaving BTOB.

The news was revealed on December 31st KST with a statement from the label. “Jung Ilhoon is deeply reflecting on his responsibility for breaking the trust of many fans and causing them disappointment,” they revealed, “We also took it seriously and after a careful discussion, we respect his opinion of not wanting to bring more harm to the group, so he has decided to leave the team as of today.”

The label then went on to reveal that BTOB would continue activities as a six-member group with the full support of the label.

Illhoon is currently under investigation for marijuana use. On December 21st, the Seoul Metropolitan Police revealed they had forwarded Ilhoon’s case to prosecution in July with a recommendation that he be indicted for violating the Narcotics Control Act.

Meanwhile, Cube Entertainment stated that they also feel a great responsibility for the current situation. In addition, they assured fans that Ilhoon will faithfully cooperate with the investigation until it concludes.

Ilhoon made his debut with BTOB in 2012 and has served as the main rapper since then. He has also worked as a songwriter and producer, writing several of BTOB’s own track. In addition, he made his official solo debut with his first mini-album in 2018.
