On September 11th, legendary Korean rockers Boohwal— who have been active for 35 years— released the first single off the band’s upcoming fourteenth full-length album, scheduled for release this winter.
“The Moment” is an authentic rock ballad referencing the beauty of the moment when love begins, as well as the parting of that love. The lyrics express longing which permeates the heart, along with a monologue containing memories and moments of a beautiful time.
The band’s original lead vocalist Park Wan-kyu, who left the group in 1998, rejoined Boohwal in 2019 after 22 years. The singer’s soft and passionate voice, combined with unique sensibility, shows depth and maturity that only seasoned musicians can demonstrate.
The title track was co-composed with emotional pianists Yiruma and 2FACE, adding more substance to the autobiographical lyrics written by the band’s main songwriter and lead guitarist Kim Tae-won— who formed the band back in 1985.
