Minzy has revealed that she won’t be participating in the final song release from 2NE1.
The singer shared a post on her social media account to explain that not only was she not participating in the song, but she didn’t even know about it until she spotted it in the press. However, she went on to state that her feelings of appreciation hadn’t changed, and she still wanted to say thank you for all the love and support.
“It’s a shame that I had to find out 2NE1 will be releasing their final album through a news article,” the singer stated. “This is very unfortunate as I was previously a member of the group 2NE1, but I share the same feelings as the other members in wanting to show appreciation and bid farewell to everyone for all their love and support of 2NE1. I am truly grateful and sincerely appreciate all the love 2NE1 received and hope for your extended love and support as the members continue on in their individual careers. Thank you.”
CL wrote the lyrics for the song “Goodbye,” a song that will be 2NE1’s final release. The girl group disbanded in 2016, and Minzy signed with a new agency. Member Park Bom also left YG Entertainment, leaving members CL and Sandara Park as the only two whose contracts were renewed with the company.
There has been no comment from YG Entertainment since Minzy’s post.
