Summer may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean you have to break out your sweaters just yet! If you’re still looking for some summer outfit inspiration, here are eight trends idols can’t stop wearing this summer.
1) Layering Shirts
Layering shirts in’t exactly a summer only look. Idols love to layer a tank top or cotton t-shirt underneath a light jacket or larger shirt year-round. This is an easy look to achieve with items already in your closet.
2) Blue Hair
The Pantone color of the year for 2020 is Classic Blue, and it seems idols couldn’t wait to adapt the color into their every day life as well. Idols such as IU, Rachel from April, and many others have dyed their hair blue this year.
3) Shorts
Shorts are a necessity during warm weather. Idols tend to wear denim shorts, but softer cotton shorts are also a common sight. Pair your shorts with an oversized shirt, tank top, or ruffled blouse. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
4) Tank Tops
Tank tops aren’t just for female idols. Male idols also enjoy wearing tank tops during the summer. Wyatt of ONF and Dawn (formerly of PENTAGON) paired silver necklaces and snapbacks with their looks.
5) Sunglasses
Sunglasses are another must for summer! Oversized sunglasses like those worn by Jennie and Jisoo of BLACKPINK are considered fashion classics now. However, slightly smaller sunglasses like those seen on Ashley of Ladies’ Code have been making their way back into popularity due to the resurgence of 90s nostalgia in pop culture.
6) Berets
Similar to layering, berets aren’t exactly a summer exclusive. Both male and female idols love to break out berets to dress up their outfits. Han Seung Woo of VICTON goes all out with his overalls and multi-color shirt, but you can also keep your look simple like S.Coups of SEVENTEEN and I.N of Stray Kids outfits.
7) Oversized T-shirts
Oversized clothing has been a growing trend in K-pop for the last three years or so now. On their days off, idols seem to enjoy wearing more relaxed clothing, especially larger t-shirts. You can pair them with sweats like Byung Chan of VICTON wears above or you can wear them with leggings like SinB of GFRIEND. Of course, you could also wear shorts with your oversized t-shirt as well.
8) Slip Dresses
Slip dresses are simple and easy for summer. You can pair them with sneakers or even cowboy boots (like Nancy of MOMOLAND does) for a casual look, or wear them with heels for a formal look. The best part about slip dresses is their versatility!
Most of the items on this list can be worn together, so feel free to mix and match the pieces. Some of these you may already have sitting in your closet. Once you already have such basic pieces, it’s easy to start wearing them in new ways to get your K-pop inspired looks.
