DONGKIZ‘s first project group DONGKIZ I:KAN, consisting of members Munik and Jaechan, debuted with the trendy 90’s throwback “Y.O.U” on July 7th KST!
The catchy and addictive track is a new jack swing song and combines the usual DONGKIZ flair and positive energy to the retro concept, which includes many popular musical elements from the 90’s complete with the decade’s famous dance break. It was created by musician KIRIN (who also makes a cameo appearance in the MV) and producer Bronze of team 8BallTown who are receiving great attention for the 2020 retro craze.
The music video captures the 90’s vibe flawlessly by the use of many vintage visuals, camera effects and street fashion reminiscent of the era, combined with I:KAN’s unique and fun characters. The performance was by Bae Won Hee of LEGO LABEL, a dance company responsible for creating some of K-pop’s most well-known choreography.
It stars actress Kim Suyeon as the female lead whose heart Munik and Jaechan are trying to win over and even includes blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo appearances from the other DONGKIZ members, Wondae, Kyoungyoon, and Jonghyeong.
