On June 30th at 12 a.m. KST, PENTAGON unleashed the performance video for their special single, “Basquiat”!
Originally performed on the idol group survival show “Road to Kingdom” for their final comeback competition, it was then released as part of the album compilation entitled Road to Kingdom Final. Members Hui and Wooseok both helped write and compose the song.
“Basquiat” references the late American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat whose art tackled socio-political issues and criticized inequality. Its lyrics channel the turbulent emotions that stem from being restrained as well as a call to pursue freedom in order to be whoever one wants to be.
PENTAGON debuted back in 2016 under Cube Entertainment. They previously returned in February 2020 with the album Universe: The Black Hall and its title track, “Dr. BeBe.”

Katherine has been an ELF since 2010. She reads just about anything and is raising a pride of demanding cats. She’s been cold and sleepy these past few days, wondering if she really needs to go to work. Being poor and asleep sounds more and more appealing by the moment. But there are cats to feed so too bad for her.
