On May 20th at 6 p.m. KST, Lovelyz‘s Sujeong made her solo debut with “Tiger Eyes”!
“Tiger Eyes” was written by Seo Ji Eum who worked on Lovelyz’s “Ah-Choo.” The EDM pop song compares the seductive eyes of a person to a tiger’s sharp gaze and details how the singer gives into their charms. It also notes down comparisons between the flirtation and a tiger capturing their prey.
Her first mini-album shares the name of the title track and has seven songs in total. Sujeong herself wrote and composed for one of the b-side tracks, “zz.” According to the singer, the concept for the album was “cool and charismatic” which she struggled with for a bit after doing mostly sweet performances with her team.
Sujeong debuted with Lovelyz back in 2014 under Woollim Entertainment and is the second member to debut as a soloist. Kei, a fellow member, previously released a solo album called Over and Over in 2019.
