The lead cast of the upcoming tvN drama “LUCA” (tentative title) has been confirmed!
On April 14th, it was revealed that superstar actor Kim Rae Won and popular actress Lee Da Hee have both been cast as the leads in the upcoming series. “LUCA” stands for “Last Universal Common Ancestor” and is a fictional tale based on Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species.”
Kim Rae Won (“Black Knight,” “The Most Ordinary Romance”) plays the part of Ji Oh, a man who suddenly wakes up in a new world with no recollection of his identity and finds he is different from those around him. Meanwhile, Lee Da Hee (“Search: WWW,” “The Beauty Inside”) will play Gu Reum, a detective investigating the case of a missing child when her life is suddenly turned upside down after meeting Ji Oh.
Other cast members include Kim Moo Yeol (“Bad Guys: City of Evil,” “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil”) and Kim Sung Oh (“A Korean Odyssey,” “Fight For My Way”). Meanwhile the drama will be directed by the talented Kim Hong Seon, the mind behind the drama “Voice” and movies such as “The Age of Blood.” The screenwriter for the new series is Chun Sung Il, whose notable works include the hit film “The Pirates” and series like “Chuno.”
The series will air on tvN sometimes in the second half of 2020.
