BLACKPINK has set a new record in the YouTube world- and not just among fellow K-pop artists!
The YG Entertainment group’s music video for “KILL THIS LOVE” reached over 56.6 million views within the first 24 hours of its release, thus beating out the record previously held by Ariana Grande for her video “Thank U, Next” by slightly more than 1 million views.
The amount of views shows a significant increase in views for BLACKPINK’s videos within the first 24 hours. Their previous highest-viewed MV within 24 hours was “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” With 36.2 million views on the first day of its release, that video was previously ranked the number six most-watched video in 24 hours on YouTube. As such, that means there was an increase in over 20.4 million views within the first day of BLACKPINK’s newest music video.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
