Teddy Park, famous YG Entertainment producer and former 1YTM member, is set to debut a new boy group under YG’s sub-label The Black Label.
The new boy group is training diligently, receiving help from The Black Label’s artists and staff. It is said that in addition to singing, rapping and dancing, they are also learning the basics of production and composition. Although no specific debut date has been set, they are rumored to be shooting for a debut at the end of 2017.
In addition, the group of trainees is reported to include Sandara Park’s younger cousin, as well as a half-black member (exact nationality unknown).
The sub-label is headed up by Teddy Park and Kush. In addition to Teddy’s own experience as an artist-turned-producer, Kush was also an artist for many years as part of the reggae duo Stony Skunk with Skull. After their duo disbanded, Kush also became a producer and songwriter for YG, even writing several songs for BIGBANG.
With such experienced and successful heads of the company, this YG sub-label is sure to become a hit, despite only being formed in May of this year. The label focuses on genres such as hip-hop and R&B and is home to artists such as Zion.T, among others.
