KNK Leaves Label But Will Continue As Group + Member Youjin Leaves Due To Health Reasons

Idol group KNK has parted ways with their label, YNB Entertainment.

On September 10th KST, it was revealed that the group and the label had terminated their contracts. The members stated long-term managerial issues as one of the major reasons they wanted to terminate their contracts.

Despite leaving the company, KNK has announced they will continue together as a group. However, member Youjin— who had previously taken a hiatus to focus on treating his mental health and panic disorder— has decided to leave the group entirely.

KNK debuted in March 2016. They quickly gained attention for their great vocals, as well as their unique style. After appearing on multiple variety shows, the group’s quick wit and funny personalities helped win them even more fans. As their popularity grew, the group was even invited to perform at KCON NY 2017. This came amid the success of what seemed to be their breakthrough hit “Sun, Moon, Star,” as well as their follow-up track “Rain.” They then went on to make their Japanese debut as well. Amidst their newfound success, the group went on to win awards like Global Rookie Top 5 at the V Live Awards, Music Star Award at the Soribada Best K-Music Awards, and the Netizen Award at the Korean Entertainment Arts Awards.

Despite their sudden rise in fame and popularity, “Rain” proved to be their last Korean comeback. The label would later have them release a digital single, but the group has not held an official comeback since July 2017.

We wish them all the best of luck as they continue their careers!
