Girls’ Generation has celebrating their 11th year anniversary! How incredible!
Girls’ Generation (also known as SNSD) initially debuted in July of 2007, but had their debut performance of “Into The New World” on August 3rd, 2007, making it their official debut date.
The active SM Entertainment based members got together to film a video thank you message for the fans. Yuri and Sunny gave their sentiments and were followed by Taeyeon, Yoona, and Hyoyeon giving their words of love as well.
Members of the group took to various social media accounts in a grateful nature as well. Taeyeon in particular posted a few pictures of the eight members of the group on her personal Instagram with a caption that said, “August is a very special month for Girls’ Generation. That’s why you really have to watch for Girls’ Generation in August. Congrats, Girls’ Generation.”
Only a few days ago, on August 1st, an industry representative released rumors that a new Girls’ Generation unit was underway. A representative of SM Entertainment followed up the same day by revealing that there was in fact a new sub-unit of Girls’ Generation being prepared. They revealed that the new sub-unit was shooting for a late August or early September release. Fans have gathered that this is what Taeyeon was referring to in her post and wonder if the three members grouped together in the video above (Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Yoona) will comprise the new sub-unit.
Meanwhile, Tiffany just recently released a fresh and long-awaited track titled “Over My Skin” on August 2nd. It was her first track following her departure from SM Entertainment. Check it out here!
Congratulations to Girls’ Generation, and thank you, for the amazing 11 years!
