Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul has spoken up about his battle with recent health problems.
During a press conference for the new variety show “Where Are You Going, DdaengChul? (땡철이 어디가), Heechul shared that he struggled with the demands of touring lately. Although fans know about his health problems and continued pain from an accident years ago, it seems that traveling overseas for tours recently makes things even more difficult.
He spoke specifically about the group’s recent Super Show 7 tour in Latin America and how he traveled despite being sick. “It was the first time in my life that I felt that sick. I don’t know the words to say it more clearly, but it hurt so much that it felt like [I was] dying.” He also shared that his traveling partner Yesung helped him out during the trip. “Yesung who was with me even gave me some of his own personal medicines. He took care of me, and it was like coming back from the dead. We somehow managed to finish the shows anyways.”
In addition to his normal health and pain problems, fans noticed that Heechul looked pale during the tour and was continuously coughing onstage. Despite that, he continued to give it his all and perform wholeheartedly. Fans also noticed a conversation on social media where Yesung expressed concern over Heechul’s condition, and Heechul thanked him in return for his assistance while he was sick.
Apart from being a member of Super Junior, Heechul is also an in-demand host and MC for variety shows. Known for his quick wit and friendly hosting skills, he is a permanent member on shows like “Knowing Bros” and “Life Bar.”
