WATCH: TWICE Want To “Dance The Night Away” In Summery Comeback MV

TWICE has officially made their comeback!

Their new single “Dance The Night Away” dropped on July 9th, 2018 at 6 PM KST, alongside the release of their second special album Summer Nights. The track, composed by popular veteran singer Wheesung, is an uptempo pop song that celebrates the youthful energy of summer. In line with the theme, the music video was shot on location on the sandy, picturesque beaches of Japan’s Okinawa Prefecture.

Leading up to the release of the album, the group released a variety of promotional content for fans, including individual teaser images, the full track list, music video previews, dance teasers, and track previews. For the concept, TWICE intends to show off the charm of nine different ‘summer girl’ personalities.

Summer Nights is a special re-release of TWICE’s recent mini album What Is Love?, now repackaged three brand new songs – “Dance The Night Away,” “CHILLAX,” and “Shot Thru The Heart.” “Shot Thru The Heart” is a particularly special track, as it marks the songwriting debut of Japanese members Momo, Sana, and Mina. The song, being described as a retro track with a melody evoking the swing music era, features honest lyrics pointed at a guy who isn’t reciprocating the girls’ affection.

Meanwhile, TWICE commemorated the release of “Dance The Night Away” and new album Summer Nights with a special V LIVE broadcast entitled “TWICE ‘Dance The Night Away’ SPECIAL V LIVE,” where they personally introduced the new music to fans.
