Bang Shi Hyuk and Lee Soo Man have been named as two of the top International Music Leaders of 2018!
Variety magazine released a list and named both the SM Entertainment founder and Big Hit Entertainment founder as two of the top leaders in music.
Bang Shi Hyuk was named on the list for his overwhelming success with BTS. Variety mentioned facts such as how the world-famous group placed #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, sold out their world tour, and have been signed with companies such as LG for global endorsements. As the CEO of Big Hit Entertainment, the small company has grown exponentially due to the success of BTS.
Meanwhile, Lee Soo Man was named as one of the top music leaders due to his company SM Entertainment and the many artists who have helped to take Kpop to a global level and greatly influenced the Asian music market. Variety specifically mentioned the success of groups like Super Junior and EXO. They shared how Super Junior is currently on a world tour after their success in the Latin American market and how EXO was chosen to perform at the closing ceremony of the Olympics in Seoul.
Meanwhile, a total of 34 people were included on the list and ranged from various countries such as the U.S., China, Canada, Australia, and more.
