Recent news stated “Produce 48” had more updates on the format of the show.
It was said that for the new Mnet show, international fans outside of Japan and Korea cannot vote, as well as the fact that Korean fans can only cast their votes for Japanese trainees while Japanese fans can only vote for Korean trainees.
It was also said 96 trainees will be joining in total with 48 Korean trainees and 48 Japanese trainees and only 6 Korean and 6 Japanese trainees in the final winning group.
Mnet has stated that this was something they had discussed with AKB48’s producer, but is not final. Mnet is currently working on the details to bring the best to the table.
“Produce 48” will be airing in mid-2018.
