WTK Review: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

Hello, fellow humans! Today, we at WTK will be taking a look at the Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam by Innisfree! It’s quite a solid cleanser and really affordable as well. You can even get it on Amazon Prime for roughly $10 by clicking here or by visiting the product page on the official website for Innisfree. To preface this review, I must first say that I have combination skin. My skin is oily around the forehead and nose and is prone to mild acne. (Aish… will I ever have Kpop idol skin? Probably not, but hey- we have to love ourselves anyways!) Innisfree themselves recommend this product for people with oily skin or with large pores.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The cleanser comes in a pale beige, standard tube. The packaging is simple, but somehow cute, and there are instructions and ingredients on the back in both Korean and English (YAY!). Innisfree is a brand from Jeju Island, South Korea and focuses on using natural, local resources as ingredients. Their other products include things like apple seeds, orchids, sea salt, minerals, and green tea. Seventy percent of each skincare product is made from natural ingredients.

The name of this specific product does a pretty good job at explaining what it is- a pore cleansing foam that contains Jeju volcanic clusters to absorb excess sebum and purify pores. The cleanser is mainly foam, interspersed with small, orange-ish beads (Jeju volcanic clusters??) that melt away when rubbed. It’s slightly scented and foams really well- a pea sized amount or two is enough to cover my entire face.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE:

After washing the foam off, the skin feels squeaky clean and tight, but not unpleasantly so. It was a little drying, which was not a surprise, so if you have dry or “normal” skin, maybe go with another cleanser, like the Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam. Even for those with combination skin, I recommend only using it on your trouble areas, so as to not dry out your whole face too much.

OVERALL RATING:

I have used it for around 2 months now and do think that my skin breaks out less when I use it. It controls my skin relatively well, but it is no magic serum, and problems do still arise. Overall, I would give this product an 7.5 out of 10. As Innisfree recommends, this is definitely a cleansing foam that is best for people with oily skin or large pores that need to be unblocked.
