SM Entertainment Responds To Reports Of Sooyoung, Seohyun, And Tiffany Leaving

It seems like Girls’ Generation will be seeing some member changes quite soon, just following their 10th anniversary.

According to an insiders report by Ilgan Sports posted on October 9th KST, three members of Girls’ Generation will not be renewing their contracts with SM Entertainment. Tiffany supposedly plans to leave South Korea and return to the United States to study acting. Sooyoung and Seohyun, who are already established actors, will reportedly be leaving and joining different companies to focus on their acting career. It was also reported that the remaining five members, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Taeyeon, Sunny, and Yoona, have renewed their contracts and will remain at SM Entertainment for the time being.

Representatives of SM Entertainment responded shortly after the report was made on October 9th. They stated: “Girls’ Generation is a very precious and meaningful group to both SM Entertainment and their fans. The members are not thinking to disband. However, there are members whose contracts have ended. The direction of Girls’ Generation’s promotions will be carefully decided after discussion with the members.”

There was no mention of exactly what the remaining members will choose to do or which direction the company will pursue for the group. Obviously, due to the discussions still taking place, things are yet undecided.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the matter.
