WTK Review: Taeyang Rocks The Stage For First U.S. Solo Tour

The Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta was white-hot on September 6th as BIGBANG‘s Taeyang serenaded thousands of eager fans. Although we’ve been experiencing cooler weather these days, the YG Entertainment vocalist definitely brought the heat during the Atlanta leg of his “White Night Tour.” The show contained everything from sensual co-ed dance numbers to mesmerizing graphics and video compilations. As a fan, it was everything you could have wanted and more.

To everyone’s surprise, Taeyang opened the show with just his vocals to the title track “White Night.” Psychedelic visuals accompanied his powerful voice, setting a great mood for the night. Next up was his dance classic “Ringa Linga,” which had everyone on their feet and in the aisles. From there, the party didn’t stop.

He adorned the stage in all white as he greeted the crowd and had numerous comical exchanges with over excited fans. Things took a steamy turn when female dancers accompanied him during his performance of “Body,” with the audience loving every second of it. The ladies held their own, dressed in heels and all black, contrasting with Taeyang’s staple, all white ensemble.

He then slowed the show down a little, performing hits like “Last Dance” (while playing a white piano) and “Wedding Dress.” The crowd sang every word as the veteran vocalist belted out the famous ballads. Even though the songs were slower, the atmosphere was very electric as fans held on to each note.

As the evening was coming to a close, he playfully asked the audience if they wanted an encore, and you could almost feel the theatre vibrate from the roar of a response! While the band brought the house down, he and the dancers slyly changed into his official tour merchandise and were quickly back onstage and ready to party.

After introducing the band and dancers, it was time to end with a bang, or shall we say a “BANG BANG BANG”! From “Good Boy” to “Fantastic Baby,” he hit us with all the classic jams of BIGBANG! There was not a single seat that had a body in it as everyone was up dancing and grooving to the music. Taeyang even did the rap parts for the songs, much to fans’ delight! To close the show, he belted out a heartfelt rendition of “Eyes, Nose, Lips” as he waved goodbye and blew kisses to the fans who were sincerely moved by his performance of one of their favorite songs.

The entire night was absolutely magical. From the insane sun and moon graphics to the killer guitar solos, there was never a dull moment. It was the perfect farewell, and his send off was just as epic!

As we all know, Taeyang is preparing for his military enlistment, which made the night even more special. He owned the stage and gave the performance of a lifetime. There’s no doubt that everyone in Atlanta will eagerly await his return, as will as everyone else who was able to attend one of the stops for his first solo tour “White Night” in North America!
