For his first official appearance since being discharged from the military yesterday, Super Junior‘s Siwon will be traveling to Vietnam as part of a UNICEF campaign.
On August 18th, it was reported that Choi Siwon will be traveling to Vietname as part of the joint SM Entertainment-UNICEF project, SMile For U. He will be touring various cultural and education centers, schools, kindergardens and more in order to promote the campaign which focuses on music education. He will be traveling August 21st-25th.
It is reported that this particular SMile For U campaign will be part of the “Schools For Asia” outreach, a project that focuses on providing school facilities that are safe and clean and contain mechanisms that protect children from harm, well-designed curriculum that includes proper education of health, nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, and HIV prevention. In addition, they provide the learning materials and teacher training for these facilities. Since both projects reach out to children and provide unique education in schools, Korean news reports say that the two projects will be connected on Siwon’s trip.
It’s great to see Siwon using his free time to work on this important cause! For more information on how to support this important campaign, please click HERE to visit the UNICEF project page.
