MXM, the upcoming unit from Brand New Music, has revealed the tracklist and album details for their debut!
The duo is made up of Im Young Min and Kim Dong Hyun, two very popular trainees from “Produce 101: Season 2” that captured the audience’s attention for their polished skills and musical talent.
As other trainees from the company made it into the top 11 and will debut as part of Wanna One, Brand New Music made the decision to debut the boys as part of their own duo unit. The name MXM means “MIX & MATCH” and “MORE X MORE,” showing that they will present a versatile style and continue growing and developing with time.
They released a teaser image to show their logo and how it is made up of the letters MXM.
After releasing their logo and group name, MXM then dropped a tracklist that has fans excited to hear the new songs!
The first song, entitled “Good Day,” was written by Wanna One’s Lee Dae Hwi and Park Woo Jin. It is produced, composed, and arranged by Dae Hwi, as well as professional songwriters Dong Ne Hyeong and Won Young Hyeon. The two have worked on hit songs like I.O.I’s “Downpour” and SEVENTEEN’s “Pretty U.”
The second song to be released is “I Just Do,” a song composed by Kim Dong Hyun, with lyrics by both Dong Hyun and Young Min. Originally written as an acoustic song by Dong Hyun, the arrangement was done by Kiggen to pick up the tempo a bit and allow for rapping from Young Min. Kiggen is a famous songwriter and producer for songs like “Oh Little Girl” on “Produce 101: Season 2” and “Daybreak” by NU’EST.
The new duo will release the two songs as a pre-release before their official debut. They will drop on July 27th at 6 p.m. KST!
