BIGBANG’s Seungri Wins Silver Medal In First Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

BIGBANG‘s Seungri has participated in his first official jiu-jitsu tournament and taken home two medals as a result, including a silver medal!

The BIGBANG star previously revealed that he does jiu-jitsu to stay in shape, but it seems like the hobby has turned into an even bigger interest for him when he participated in his first official competition under the Japan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (JBJJF). The 1st Japan Beginner’s Jiu-Jitsu Championship was held on July 16th-17th at the Budokan Hibiki in Osaka.

Most of the competitors came from different jiu-jitsu organizations and schools, so the fact that Seungri won medals at the event, despite being a busy idol and MC, made it even more special.

After the event, he posted a picture on his Instagram account, saying that he had tried his best and was grateful for the help of his trainers. “One silver medal. One bronze medal,” he stated, “I feel regret, but I’m okay because I did my best.”

Later, his best friend, Choi Jong Hoon from FTISLAND, posted a picture of the two together, congratulating him on his success.

Congratulations, Seungri!
