Just hours after releasing the official teaser video for member Kai, SMTOWN has now released a series of teaser images for the artist as well.
The EXO member is seen in a variety of poses in a lush, outdoor setting like the one in the teaser videos. In some pictures, the singer and dancer shows a sleek, straight hairstyle with cuts made into the fade style. In other images, Kai is shown with a variety of complicated braids and twists. His clothes are loose and casual, and he even sports a fake tattoo in one image.
In addition to the teaser images revealed, EXO has also dropped information for their upcoming album and comeback. The War will be EXO’s fourth full album and will have a total of nine tracks, including the title track “Ko Ko Bop.”
The title track seems to have borrowed the name from the 1960 American doo-wop hit “Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop” by Little Anthony and the Imperials. The song was about a dance called the Ko Ko Bop and tells the story of a girl who lives in a tropic region who teaches the singers a sexy dance that takes them to “paradise.” It even includes instructions on how to dance it in the lyrics, “Left foot forward, right one back. Bring them side by side, Syncopate your last two steps, Now you’re gonna glide. Keep along the rhythm track, Girls please show ’em how. Now you start to arch your back, Man, you got ’em now.” The “tropical” setting of the original song certainly seems to go hand-in-hand with the summer feel of EXO’s teaser videos and pictures.
The War will drop on July 18th at 6 p.m. KST, along with the MV for the title track.
Check out the teaser images below! What do you think? Will EXO be able to take their fans to paradise with their new comeback?
