BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon is finally back!
On June 8th at 6 p.m. KST, G-Dragon made his long-awaited comeback with “Untitled, 2014.” The emotional, beautiful song shows a change from G-Dragon’s normal title tracks and is a slow song that focuses on his vocals, accompanied by a piano track.
The song’s lyrics tell about longing for a former love. Meanwhile, the unconventional “Untitled” title seems to allow G-Dragon some anonymity as well, leading people to think the real title must be the name of the person he is singing about. The year 2014 appears to be the year the relationship took place or the year that he actually wrote the song. Either way, fans are going wild for the song.
“Untitled, 2014” is the title track of G-Dragon’s new album, Kwon Ji Young— his real name. The entire album is supposed to be more representative of him as a person and the kind of music he wants to write. All of the songs were either written or composed by G-Dragon, and he had a major hand in producing the album as well. All in all, the album is definitely more “Kwon Ji Young” than “G-Dragon,” showcasing his maturity and growth as a songwriter.
Within less than one hour of being released, “Untitled, 2014” had already achieved an all-kill on all the major Korean charts!
