Hello lovelies, it’s time once again for another sheet mask review by yours truly! The other day it was raining cats and dogs, something which never fails to make me sleepy and forces me to procrastinate on the important tasks I totally planned to get done! So, with my day “ruined,” I naturally decided to take that opportunity to dig out a sheet mask to give my skin some much needed TLC, and that mask would be Sally’s Box Secret Garden Olive Oil Ampoule Mask!
Sally’s Box is a brand that’s very passionate about the importance of moisturizing— “healthy beauty from within” and “water your heart” appear to be their mottos, and lovely mottos they are. For many of their products, Sally’s Box use characters Pape & Popo to tell a story of the ups and downs of their innocent love. Learn more about the Pape Popo series here. I feel the illustrations on the mask packages perfectly encompass the brand’s philosophies. Not only will their masks heal your skin, they might make your soul feel a little lighter too. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Unfortunately I couldn’t find much info on this mask or translated descriptions, but here’s what I know: the olive oil and “garden complex” ingredients hydrate, moisturize, and firm the skin. One part of the package reads “Moisturizing + Soothing + Lifting”, however, below that it reads “Moisturizing + Smoothing + Lifting.” So, which one it’s actually supposed to be is anyone’s guess, but I’m going to go with smoothing. …you’ll know why later. The mask material is a thick cotton, and this mask uses a unique 2-Step system where you apply an ampoule lotion— that contains “ten highly concentrated natural extracts”— to your skin before the sheet mask to enhance its effects. You’ll see below that there’s quite an extensive ingredients list.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE:
At first, I was confused as to how this “2-Step” mask is supposed to work, until I opened it at the top and realized the little ampoule bottle on the package is filled a with a small of amount of serum/lotion that you apply to your face before putting on the sheet mask, which is opened from the bottom. It’s a very interesting and fun concept, but the jury is still out on whether it’s actually an effective extra step.
The mask material itself felt luxurious; it’s opaque white and reminded me more of a sturdy paper towel than anything, but it was noticeably softer than other sheet masks I’ve used and it fit and adhered well to my skin. The serum is thin with a watery consistency. It has a pleasant faint scent… a bit floral? A hint of olive oil? Something like that.
The mask overall felt nice, but my skin did feel a bit flushed while wearing it. Therefore, I’m not ruling out minor irritation. I wore the mask for approximately 30 minutes until it had dried out slightly. After removing the mask, I realized the tip of my nose was red. It wasn’t quite Rudolph-red, but more like sunburnt-red, you know? It didn’t hurt and the rest of my face looked fine, so I’m still not sure what that was all about. It wasn’t particularly bothersome, but it’s still more or less a warning sign. Moving forward, there was a fair amount of serum left in the package. I applied it to my skin, and it absorbed very quickly with no stickiness. The product is definitely moisturizing and hydrating, making my skin both look and feel noticeably softer and smoother. Needless to say, however, “soothe” it did not— if it’s even supposed to.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The rest of my post-spontaneous facial time on that lazy, rainy afternoon was spent drinking Christmas tea (the thought of Rudolph made me crave it and no, I don’t care that it’s June), listening to Kpop piano covers, and ignoring all other responsibilities. As you clearly can see, I’m a very sophisticated woman, and this mask only made me feel more so. Très chic! After a few hours passed, my skin was still super soft but my nose still red. However, the redness was finally gone by morning. Besides that little issue, I’d say it’s a solid mask with a high-end feel. Not to mention these Secret Garden masks would be perfect for a bride-to-be— so cute! However, those with sensitive skin might want to stay on the safe side and skip this one.

For general skin types? Yes. For sensitive skin? No.
