“New Journey To The West (NJTTW)” is a travel variety show that has a near cult-like following among their fans. With a hilarious cast currently made up of Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun, SECHSKIES‘s Eun Ji Won, Ahn Jae Hyun, WINNER‘s Song Mino and Block B‘s P.O, the show never fails to deliver tons of laughs each episode.
The show just finished their sixth (and a half!) season and gained even more fans through the antics of the cast and crew as they traveled through Japan, Hong Kong, and Korea. At the start of each season, the members must choose a character (from classic characters like Zhu Bajie to a virgin ghost). Donning their costumes for each character, then they travel abroad where they end up spending most of the time in their hotel rooms! Every day of their trip is filled with games, quizzes, contests, and more— most of which go viral among Korean viewers who love the show.

One of the most classic games on “NJTTW” is the cone hat game. First, buy a pack of party hats, then cut a tiny hole at the tip. Wearing the cone hats like a mask, you then have to try to see out the tiny hole while playing hide-and-seek, races, or even a simple scavenger hunt. It looks simple, but the hat makes it hard to see clearly, so you just end up doing absurd things (like Lee Soo Geun did in this video). Try it out and let the laughs begin!
The Zombie Game is a classic game where one “zombie” chases other people around to convert them into zombies too. However, “NJTTW” upgraded the game in a big way. From playing the zombie game in a completely dark room to blindfolding the zombies completely, the other cast members must run away… or face being caught and bitten (literally!) by the chaser zombie. If you make a noise, you’re officially a zombie too— which means as long as you can withstand the bites, tickling, and pinches, you can stay zombie free! Check out this funny clip as cast member Cho Kyuhyun (who is currently on a break from the show as he serves in the military) tries to escape from zombie Jaehyun.

This game is all about quick reflexes! The cast members all line up as pictures of famous celebrities or well-known individuals are shown to each of them. They only have three seconds to respond and correctly say the identity of the person in the photo. It sounds easy, but playing under pressure and with a time constraint means your mind often goes blank or you can’t get the answer out quickly enough. The end result means people forget the names of a lot of famous people— such as President Trump! Their embarrassment over simple mistakes is enough to make your stomach hurt from laughing.
