10 Times K-pop Music Videos Wowed With A Water Dance

With summer in full swing, one can’t help but think of the times K-pop idols have used water in their performances. Whether flexing their acting skills while getting rained on or falling into water dramatically, water is undoubtedly a great tool for enhancing performances. There are so many great examples to choose from, but for this list, we’ll focus specifically on K-pop music videos where idols performed choreography on or around water. Without further ado, let’s look at “10 Times K-pop Music Videos Wowed With A Water Dance.”

1) U-KISS – “Neverland”

To kick off our list, we have U-KISS‘ “Neverland.” Released in 2011 as the title track off the group’s second full album, this throwback is a great example of using water to enhance an already powerful performance. Though quite underrated at the time, this was one of the first music videos to come to mind for this list. Check out the music video below!

2) 100% “Heart”

Next up, we have 100%‘s “Heart.” The music video starts with a floral wonderland, but soon, the members are outside splashing in a pool. With the brightly-colored palette and playful use of water, this entry gives us strong water park vibes, and we’re loving it! Check out the music video below.

3) GFRIEND – “Love Whisper”

This list wouldn’t be complete without GFRIEND‘s “Love Whisper.” The group is widely praised for their ability to pull off rigorous choreography, and they once again prove themselves with “Love Whisper.” The ladies dance and spin barefoot on water, giving off a carefree feeling while giving a flawless performance. Check out their beautiful video below!

4) Kang Daniel – “Waves” (Feat. Simon Dominic, Jamie )

“Produce 101” Season 2’s top pick Kang Daniel is here to bring some swag to our list. The talented soloist recently released “Waves,” featuring Simon Dominic and Jamie. The song itself is quite addictive, and the trio looks great together, giving off a very cohesive feeling. In terms of dancing, Kang Daniel spends most of the music video letting the backup dancers be in the spotlight. He eventually joins them towards the end of the music video, but all he needs is a few seconds to leave us enamored.

5) VIXX – “Shangri-La”

While the previous entries on this list can be described as powerful or playful, VIXX‘s “Shangri-La” brings something new to the table. The entire music video overflows with an elegant vibe. The members dance on water with deliberate, yet graceful, moves that grab your attention. Watch their stunning performance below if you haven’t already!

6) THE BOYZ – “No Air”

The next entry on our list is THE BOYZ‘s “No Air.” The song is the title track from the group’s third mini-album, THE ONLY. It gives us cool moombahton sounds, a great fit for the group. The members hold nothing back as they display their dance skills, which are both powerful and smooth. You’ll be impressed by both this performance and song!

7) UP10TION – “White Night”

First off, the juxtaposition of fire and water in UP10TION‘s “White Night” is stunning. Not only that, the music video is also worthy of being a K-drama. The members go into full actor mode, and on top of that, also give us a great water performance! Check out the music video below!

8) IZ*ONE – “Secret Story of the Swan”

The ladies of IZ*ONE are beautiful swans in this magical music video. Several elements like set design, lighting, and (of course) the members themselves are all spectacular. However, member Chaeyeon in particular wows with her solo water dance towards the end. Check it out below!

9) SHINee’s Taemin – “MOVE”

Who can forget Taemin‘s mesmerizing “MOVE” music video? Indisputably one of the best dancers in K-pop, Taemin’s performance goes above and beyond into the realm of ethereal with the use of rain. We still can’t get over how good it is. As such, it’s no wonder Taemin’s epic performance left even fellow idols obsessed with both the song and dance for months afterwards. In fact, it’s not the first time Taemin has incorporated water into his dance. You can also check out his performance version of “Press Your Number” here.

10) ATEEZ – “Inception”

ATEEZ is back with a new release, and “Inception” does not disappoint! Lucky for us, the group even has a water dance in their music video! Their water dance is powerful and captivating, so it’s a great way to wrap up this list. Check out the music video below!

That’s it for today’s list of “10 Times K-pop Music Videos Wowed With A Water Dance”! There are numerous other famous videos that have incorporated water into their dances. From Rain’s “It’s Raining” to TVXQ’s “Catch Me,” there is certainly no shortage of famous water dances. So, a special shout-out to all of the other idols who have also done a great job at using water dances in their own videos or even during live performances, teasers, promotional clips, concert VCRs, and more (including the classic “running through the rain in slow motion” clips!) There are plenty of other videos and items we could include on this list, but perhaps those are best left for another list and another day!

Papillon8689 has been a Kpop fan since 2009. A casual listener of many groups her ultimate bias is Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, so she really wanted to include his slow running through the rain in this list. If only he had danced. hahaha. In her spare time, she enjoys watching Kdramas and more Kdramas
