The turkey has been eaten, family and friends are heading back to their own houses, and another happy Thanksgiving is drawing to a close. During a time where we give thanks for life’s greatest blessings, we would also like to take a moment to unite as Kpop fans and give thanks in a way that will put a smile on your face.
Using our favorite stars for inspiration, here are ten reasons that all K-pop fans should be thankful on this Thanksgiving day!
1. Hugs
We’re thankful for hugs— they make everyone happy! Check out Super Junior when they did a free hug event several years ago. See all the smiles on people’s faces? That’s due to hugs… especially hugs that come from gorgeous, idol groups!
2. People Who Love Us
Whether it’s a boyfriend or girlfriend, a spouse, family, friends, teachers, mentors or even online friends brought together by Kpop, there is perhaps no greater blessing than being loved and cared for by other people.
3. Smiles
We’re thankful for happy smiles! Even when a day is sad and gloomy, just putting on a smile can totally change your day and your perspective. It certainly doesn’t hurt when you have contagious, beautiful smiles like Kai of EXO either.
4. Home
We’re thankful for home! No matter how far we may wander, home is always a special place to us all. Check out this beautiful cover of Michael Buble‘s song “Home” by Bernard Park.
5. Laughter
We are thankful for good times and laughter! We are especially adorable for people like Hani, since her laughter is contagious and makes everyone around her happy too!
6. Friendship
We may not all be as adorable as Ailee and Amber or even Donghae and Eunhyuk, but most of us are blessed to have a best friend in our life. Friendship is one of the greatest joys in life, and one for which even Kpop stars can give thanks.
7. Family
Whether you were raised with your parents, grandparents, siblings or even aunts and uncles, family is one of the biggest blessings in all our lives. Most of us can’t claim the superior genes of Krystal and Jessica Jung, but we each still think our families are the best!
8. Our Happy Place
We are grateful for Kpop— our happy place! For many of us, Kpop became a safe and happy place for us during an important time in our lives. Not only does it bring us a lot of joy and laughter, it has also brought us countless new friends who understand and accept us for who we really are. What’s not to be thankful about that?
9. Music
One of the greatest gifts in life, music is often a healing power and balm for the soul. Whether it makes you get up and dance in order to forget your troubles or whether it makes you sit back in silence to appreciate a beautiful melody, music is something for which all Kpop fans are grateful!
10. Love
Love is by far the greatest gift in the world! It’s a rare thing which can bring peace, joy, and happiness. It doesn’t matter if it’s romantic love, family love or even an act of kindness and compassion, love is a thing that truly changes lives. On this Thanksgiving Day and always, we’re thankful for this special gift.
